Country Lodge Au Bois du Gheer is an authentically restored country lodge that borders the Ploegsteert forest, right in the slightly hilly landscape inbetween the Flemish hills and the Lys plain. A paradise for hikers, cyclists and people in search of quietness, authenticity and traces of WWI.

During the Ypres battles, the Ploegsteert forest often had an important role. The diverse British military cemeteries in the forest are silent but very striking witnesses of this sad period.

Country Lodge Au Bois du Gheer used to be one of the country lodges in Belgium owned by the French nobility. Because the distinguished hunters often travelled with their full household, the house is very large and sleeps 16 people who will certainly enjoy the beautiful interior decoration.
